Drawing upon Jungian theory, Isabel Myers proposed that for each personality type, the cognitive functions sensing, intuition, thinking, and feeling form a hierarchy. The Dominant function is the personality type’s preferred role, the one they feel most comfortable with.

This was my experience. We broke up about a week ago. She was very emotionally turbulent and not on a good path in life. When we met, she was living with the father of her two children, but very unhappy and wanting to leave. She then followed through with moving out. There were so many red flags but she was reorienting her whole life for me so I figured I would give her a shot. We had issues but were mostly really happy together. But the stress of her moving out took its toll on her, she was overwhelmed and ended up getting back with her ex since it was a better situation for her.
She cheated on me with him and completely disappeared out of my life. I am the fool for allowing her into my life to begin with, but even after the shady crap she pulled at the end, I miss her like crazy. I am use to women being more high strung and demanding, but she was super chill. We both could completely be our dorky selves around each other with no shame.

This appears to be true–at least from the Rational point of view. But Rationals are the second favorite choice for the Idealists. And if we accept the fact that Rationals tend to be overcritical and depress their perceived satisfaction, it may be that Rationals actually like Idealists even more. It appears that Artisans are delighted with Rationals, but Rationals are ambivalent about Artisans and Sensors in general.
The Guardians for their part are simply not that satisfied with either Rationals or Idealists, but really go for other Sensors. It would seem that for Rationals, the Idealists generally make the most satisfying temperament pairing.
Dating for the INFJ personality type can feel forced and awkward. Rather than casually date, INFJs often judge each potential partner based on a quick, intuitive hunch. When people don’t live up to the INFJ’s ideals, they won’t even get a first date.
Then a few years after making this statement, I started actually getting to know one of my ENFP acquaintances. They both have Feeling as the co-pilot process they used to make decisions. Thinking is their tertiary function, which is less well developed but still accessible. And Sensing is their inferior function , which they have poor access to and which often shows up under stress.
But they use different forms of each function. Intuition Extroverted intuition is very much about exploring the outer world and putting the pieces together. In contrast, introverted intuition processes observations internally. Both functions care about finding patterns and coming to a deeper understanding, but Ne experiments while Ni ruminates. They can balance each other out quite well while also helping each other grow.
